Your car is on Facebook!

As whole world is moving towards more excessive use of social networks then SeeMe cannot stay behind either. Hereby are happy to announce a whole new kind of feature to all people, companies and marketing agencies. SeeMe now gives you an option to share the things happening with your vehicle in real-time on most widely used social network on the planet.

By using SeeMe's events module you can now use Facebook post as event action. Who has more interest in how events module works, you are welcome to read user manual or try the demo yourself but in following I'll describe the set-up of Facebook event action.

Configuring Facebook post
  1. Create event rule (you can always find more help in user manual)
  2. Set Facebook as an event action

  3. Connect with Facebook, click the button.
  4. If you are not logged in yet, Facebook will let you log in:
  5. Next window will ask for your permission to allow SeeMe to use your identity when posting to Facebook. We ask you to agree to this.

  6. When you have given your approval, Facebook action will look like this:

It shows you that Facebook posting is active and event info will be posted to your Facebook wall (Poster @ Wall)

  7. You can configure post content, when you click the Edit button:

You can write whatever text into Facebook template but we recommend you to use the variables listed on the right, if you want to give more real-time feel to your post.

By default the text is "My car {vehiclename} just entered into {location}" and by assuming that your car is named "Blue Audi" and the place you arrived is "Home" then the text posted to Facebook wall will be: "My car Blue Audi just entered into Home". If you want to use the Facebook posting more extensively and get more engagement, we recommend checking for the sentence structure not sounding very awkward.

Messages can be posted to other walls that you have access to and if you want to do that, you have to find the wall ID which is usually the numeric part in this wall's web address.

And how it will look on Facebook?

Want to finish posting to Facebook?

When you agree with SeeMe posting to Facebook as yourself and we assure that we will never ever use this stored permission for anything else than whatever you configure it to do, you may want to revoke the permission anyway, just to be sure. You can do it by going Account > Account Settings > Applications in Facebook and press "Remove app" in SeeMe section.

We treat this whole thing as a big experiment which we want to explore and find out if there is anything else to discover, I would appreciate all questions, comments and feedback to my e-mail. Thanks in advance and have fun trying it out!
